Why Snorkel the Red Sea?
The Red Sea is one of the world’s top snorkeling destinations – and for good reason. Crystal-clear waters with visibility up to 30 metres, year-round warm temperatures (22–29°C), and over 1,200 fish species make Egypt’s coral reefs a paradise for underwater explorers. Unlike many tropical destinations, the Red Sea’s fringing reefs start right from the shore, giving you instant access to vibrant coral gardens, colourful reef fish, sea turtles, and dolphins. Whether you’re a first-time snorkeler or an experienced freediver, the Red Sea offers world-class underwater experiences just a short flight from Europe.

Protect the reef
The Red Sea’s coral reefs are among the most resilient in the world, but they still need our protection. As snorkelers, we can make a difference by following a few simple guidelines: never touch or stand on corals, avoid chasing marine life, and keep a safe distance from turtles and dolphins. Choose reef-safe sunscreen without oxybenzone and octinoxate, which harm coral reproduction. Don’t feed the fish – it disrupts their natural behaviour and the ecosystem’s balance. Take only photos, leave only bubbles. By snorkeling responsibly, we help preserve these incredible underwater ecosystems for future generations to enjoy.
